In this podcast, the word “trade” means import and export, or the sale and purchase of goods internationally: “The federal government signed a treaty to increase trade with Central Asia.” A “trade” can also refer to a particular type of work, usually one involving working with one’s hands: “James is hoping to become an electrician.
