In this podcast, a “breeze” is a soft, gentle wind, especially one that comes from over an ocean or lake: “She looked beautiful as her hair moved gently in the breeze.” The phrase “to be a breeze” means to be very easy or simple: “He said that learning to ski would be a breeze, but I don’t think so.” The phrase “to shoot the breeze” means to chat or have an informal conversation: “They spent hours at the coffee shop, just shooting the breeze.” Finally, as a verb, “to breeze” means to walk somewhere with a lot of confidence, without being scared or hesitant: “I can’t believe you just breezed into his office and asked for a raise.
